Burns Lies on Vote-Smart Survey
After reading Jay's interesting write up on Burns survey for Project Vote Smart I decided to have a look at it myself. While reading Burn's answers, I realized that I knew some of them to be lies.
Statement:
Burns indicates support of the following
Increase funding of programs such as Pell grants and Stafford loans to help students pay for college.
Truth:
Burns voted against S Amdt 2213 to HR 3010: To increase the maximum Federal Pell Grant award by $200 to $4,250.
Statement:
Burns indicates support of the following
Increase funding for school capital improvements (e.g. buildings, infrastructure, technology).
Truth:
Burns voted against S Amdt 2275 to HR 3010: To provide additional funding for title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965.
Statement:
Burns indicates support of the following
Support programs to provide prison inmates with educational, vocational and job-related skills and job-placement assistance when released.
Truth:
Burns voted against S 254: A bill to reduce violent juvenile crime, promote accountability by rehabilitation of juvenile criminals, punish and deter violent gang crime, and for other purposes.
Statement:
Burns indicates support of the following

Burns has accepts tons of money from PACs, including big tobacco and big oil and almost all of it comes from out of state.
This list could go on and on, but you get the point. Burns isn't playing straight with anyone.
